Togo

The Togo Chess Federation will be using 10% of its €5000 2021 award from FIDE to develop Chess in Schools in the country.

This will be a consolidation of the initiatives started in previous years. 500 new pupils will learn chess in Togo’s schools. Interestingly, 50 street children will be affected by the program, and five of them will be reintegrated into a school program with the help of local NGOs.

Togo has been developing its school chess program since 2013.
