EDU Chairman on BPK Penabur School of Indonesia

FIDE’s EDU Commission welcomes with great pleasure the initiative of one of Indonesia’s leading schools, BPK Penabur School, to include chess among their extracurricular activities for the upcoming end of year school holiday.

The Penabur Online Chess Festival that runs from 1 December 2020 until 4 January 2021 will comprise a sequence of chess socialization based on materials that our commission has provided on this website, a series of talk shows in which our chairman acts as one of the speakers, and last but not least an online tournament as the peak event of the festival.

We hope this move will be a significant beginning to bring chess as an educational tool into the Indonesian education system in particular and as a good example to the Asian continent in general.
